We love, love, love our amazing Play to Learn families. Here is what a few of them have to say about their experience at our preschool.
I think the best testimonial is that we are sending our second child to Play to Learn now, and never considered another preschool. Both of our children love Play to Learn and Miss Jamie and always wanted to go on their “off” days too. Sending your child to Play to Learn is like sending them to another member of your family who genuinely cares about them. My children learned and are learning so much while having fun in an organized and no stress environment. Highly, highly recommend Play to Learn!
We can’t say enough good things about Play to Learn Preschool. Our daughter attended for 3 years, and would have gladly stayed for a fourth or fifth. Jamie’s teaching style combined with her love of learning and playing provides for a wonderful first step into the learning process. Jamie and Gemma are committed to the students. They always have a smile and plenty of patience. We love the special things Jamie does, like field trips for the entire family, a yearbook and a special graduation ceremony.
We wish Jamie could follow our kids into grade school. Our daughter left Play to Learn reading and spelling sight words and has a strong foundation for the future, all thanks to her teachers. Jamie’s passion for learning is compelling and we’re grateful our kids can share this journey with her.
Miss Jamie is a dedicated, energetic and compassionate teacher who always has a welcoming hug waiting and a song ready to sing. Play to Learn Preschool is top notch; organized, bright, cheerful, student centered and so inviting. My son looks forward to preschool, and can’t say good-bye to me fast enough in the morning. We love Play to Learn as much as my son! Miss Jamie is the best!
Jamie – Meeting you and going to your open house 3 years ago has been the most positive experience I have had with preschools ever! You are a truly dedicated teacher and you make learning fun! [My daughter] has grown into a confident young lady and is still being nurtured on a daily basis by you to become the person I know she can be! I find that you have such patience, kindness and above all a wonderful sense of humor!
Your school is so very creative and enriching for preschoolers that you can’t compare it to any other preschool. You have raised the bar for all the other preschools in Loudoun County! Thank you!
I highly recommend Play to Learn preschool to any parents looking for a fun and educational preschool. My daughter spent 2 years in Ms. Jamie and Ms. Gemma’s class. She LOVED it!!! Not only did she enjoy all of the activities at school, but she learned so much. She was better prepared for kindergarten than I could have ever imagined.
We are thrilled with [our son]’s social and verbal development. Hehas really come into his own since joining Miss Jamie and Miss Gemma’s class!
Play to Learn Preschool has been the most wonderful experience for our family. We are constantly amazed with what our daughters are learning and their enthusiasm for going to school is incredible. Jamie has such a caring and nurturing way with all of the children. She always makes time for a few personal words about each child. We receive individually written notes all about their day, a weekly school newsletter and a website full of photographs. It is the best of both worlds – our children get to experience their independence and we as parents get to stay fully connected and informed. We have so much admiration and respect for everything Jamie does to make Play to Learn such a very special place. We could not imagine a better or happier introduction to school for our children. Our two daughters absolutely love to go to school and it is most definitely because of Jamie and Play to Learn.
Play to Learn Preschool is fantastic! Ms. Jamie is a very nurturing, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable teacher. My son has been in her program for three years and loves going to school every day. He has really developed socially, emotionally, and academically during his time at the school. Ms. Jamie uses her “Play to Learn” philosophy to allow children to see the fun in learning. [My son] has learned so much over the last three years and I think Play to Learn has prepared him for his next step into kindergarten. I would highly recommend Ms. Jamie and Play to Learn to anyone looking for the best for their child.
We feel very fortunate that we have the opportunity to send our daughter to Play to Learn. I knew after being a teacher myself, I was going to be a tough critic and have high expectations that would be difficult to meet. When I drop my daughter off, there is no looking back for me! I trust her caregivers to treat her as their own. I know she is playing and learning in a caring and nurturing environment that meets her needs emotionally, socially, and academically. Jamie White offers what so many preschools lacked in my search. She is an educator with a Masters degree in her field, extensive experience and she is a dedicated professional. Her program cannot be beat!
Between my son and my daughter we have attended 5 different schools over the last 3 years. Play to Learn is by far the best experience. The intimate setting and great student teacher ratio were a good draw for us but we had no idea that the exceptional daily feedback was such an integral part of the learning process. Great setting, great instruction, great experience!
My son’s experience at Play to Learn has been wonderful and Ms. Jamie has made the experience incredible for all of us. One of the many reasons that my son attends Play to Learn Preschool is because it is a nut free school. My son has a severe allergy to peanuts and tree nuts. I feel very safe and secure leaving my child in Ms. Jamie’s care. She diligently checks all ingredients for the food she serves at snack time. She is trained to use the Epi-pen and understands how serious my child’s allergy is and how quickly a reaction may occur. I am grateful for this and I do not worry when I leave my son in her care. Ms. Jamie is an incredible teacher. I am so grateful that she is his first teacher, and so is my son. It was only the first month of school, when we pulled up and my son declared “I love Ms. Jamie!”
I have given Miss Jamie 3 of my children since Play to Learn opened its doors in 2005, and have watched her mold and educate them way beyond our expectations. When my oldest entered Kindergarten, he tested way above average and has continued excel. Even better, my children have learned that school is fun and exciting and eagerly anticipate each school day! Miss Jamie is more than a teacher to us, she is part of our family!
I could not be more pleased with Play to Learn Preschool. My son has grown by leaps and bounds scholastically. He is going to be very prepared for kindergarten next year. Miss Jamie is wonderful—very patient and kind. It has truly been a wonderful experience. I whole heartedly recommend Play to Learn Preschool.
The moment I met Jamie White and saw her school I was immediately impressed. The school is very well organized, had a variety of interactive activities for the children, and was a very sunny and welcoming environment. There is a consistency to the teaching staff so the children really get to know and like their teachers. Children have the opportunity to learn and grow in a friendly, non-competitive environment with children who are encouraged to work together; Snacks are provided by the school so I don’t have to worry with what to bring when it’s my turn or whether or not my child eats a lot of unhealthy snacks at school. Jamie provides a variety of wholesome snacks with the intent of exposing children to foods they may not otherwise try.
The skills, patience, and imagination of the teachers is above average and I believe my child has benefited from her interactions with them.
The Play to Learn “Daily Report” has been the best thing to happen to that age old question of How-Was-School-Today? Instead of getting the usual one word short answer, it provides [my son] a reminder of what he did that day and also enables me to formulate specific questions. We read it together and discuss that day’s events during our after-school lunch at the park (or in the car)……for about 30 minutes!
Our family has been thrilled to be a part of “Play to Learn” preschool. This is our third year and every aspect of our experience has been above and beyond what we ever expected from a preschool setting. My son has learned important life skills such as making friends, sharing and respecting others, as well as kindergarten readiness skills, all the while building a positive self image. Jamie provides a warm nurturing environment and has a true understanding of what children need, how they think and feel. She inspires them by creating an environment that promotes a sense of security, confidence and creativity. Play to learn has been a true blessing for our family.
We just can’t say enough about Play to Learn. When our daughter started at Play to Learn, she had severe food allergies. The precautions and special care the teachers took to ensure her safety were unbelievable. In her 3 years at Play to Learn, she did not have a single allergic reaction! This shows the love and care taken with not just our child, but all of the children. This same careful planning, preparation and love is true for the curriculum. We were constantly amazed with the creativity Jamie showed in all of her lesson plans. Our daughter was always excited to go to school to see her teachers and her friends. We felt comforted in the fact that we never had to worry about her during her time there, and by choosing Play to Learn, we gave her an experience that we will always cherish. Currently, she is a very successful Kindergartner. She left Play to Learn already reading, so she was already way ahead of the game! We feel blessed to be a part of the Play to Learn family.
My son has gone to play to learn preschool for 2 years. He is always excited to go to school and he is always in a good mood when I pick him up from school. I chose this particular preschool because of the 2:9 teacher to student ratio, the cleanliness of the school, and the dedication of the teachers. I know that when my child is at preschool, he is in a very supportive and caring environment. Throughout the weeks my son recites rhymes, sings songs and tells me all sorts of fun information. When I ask him where he learned these things, he always says, ‘at preschool.’
Sending my oldest son to Ms. Jamie for pre-school was an easy decision. Her love of children and vast knowledge of the scholastic and social needs of this age group makes her the next best thing to keeping him home with me. His enthusiasm to get out of the car each morning for school is a constant reassurance that we made the very best choice for him. We will be sending our soon-to-be 3 year old to join Ms. Jamie next year and he’s already talking about how excited he is to be going to pre-school!
In our search for a pre-school for our daughter we were looking for a structured, creative, fun, educational, diverse and safe environment. Ms Jamie is clearly passionate and has the teaching background to create a positive learning environment. Play to learn has exceeded our expectations! The biggest indicator for us is [our daughter]’s enthusiasm to attend pre-school, she talks very fondly of Ms Jamie, Ms Gemma and all of her new friends. It is clear she is developing both academically and socially through her interactions at play to learn. Thanks to play to learn our second year pre-school choice is a no brainer!
Play to Learn preschool has been a wonderful educational experience for our daughter! [Our daughter] loves to go to school with all of her friends because of the warm, loving, and imaginative environment that Miss Jamie and Miss Gemma have created. As parents, we are thrilled with the new things she learns in school every day. We are so pleased to have found Play to Learn and recommend it highly to anyone looking for an awesome preschool for their child.
We cannot say enough great things about Ms. Jamie and Play to Learn. We couldn’t be happier with all that our daughter has accomplished. Ms. Jamie always has an exciting and interesting curriculum. Her approach to teaching is wonderful and we are continually amazed at what a well run, clean, organized and stimulating classroom she provides for her students. Ms. Gemma is amazing as well. They truly care about their students and we feel blessed to have found such an amazing preschool.
Play to Learn has provided a fun, loving and educational environment for my 4 year old son. He loves going to preschool. He asks me every morning if it is “preschool day”. Jamie and Gemma do a great job, and I have my son’s smiling face to prove it. I fully recommend Play to Learn.
I knew from the moment Jamie said that she was retiring from the public school system and opening up her own preschool that one day my children would be attending her school. She is one of the best teachers I have ever had the privilege to work with and know. My son has special needs and Jamie didn’t blink an eye when she said she would love to have him. I can tell you without a doubt in my mind that [my son] would never have made such great social, language, and overall progress if it were not for Play to Learn and all the love and dedication that naturally exudes from Jamie and Gemma. He adores his teachers and loves going to “Miss Jamie’s School.” Jamie and Gemma always tell me (and/or show me a photo on the camera!) when he has made the slightest bit of progress. In fact, the joy on their faces matches mine! Miss Jamie and Miss Gemma love and care for their students as if they were their own children. Choosing Play to Learn has honestly been one of the easiest decisions I have made as a parent.
A friend from my mom’s group told me about Miss Jamie’s school, which her children attended. At first, I was unsure about a home-based preschool. When I visited Miss Jamie’s, however, I knew immediately her school would be the best place for my child. I was impressed with the spaciousness of the school, providing many learning centers for children to explore and discover more about the world around them, as well as the quality of instruction I witnessed. Everything was well-organized and very clean. I know he will be very well prepared for kindergarten in the fall.
